More Window Well Adventures...

So far in our window wells we've had voles, mice, cats, muskrat, and now....FROGS!!!  Little Man was so excited when he spotted it tonight.  He came running upstairs and gathered everyone to come and look at it.  Big Man got his boots and gloves on to go down in the window well to get it.  At the last second, he decided he didn't want to.  So Little Princess says, I'll do it.  She got the boots and gloves on and was about ready to go down when Big Man decided he'd better 'man' up :)  He got the gear back on and I lowered him down.  He had the 5 gallon Home Depot bucket to catch the frog in.  He put it up next to the frog and it very kindly jumped in the bucket for him.  He didn't even have to touch it.  He did later after he warmed up to it a bit.

The frog now officially has a name (Jumper)  and the boys want him to be a permanent part of the family.  Yeah, right!  I'm not quite sure what we're going to do with him, but for now he's still in the bucket on the back porch.  His living conditions have been upgraded to include grass, dirt, water, and a rock.  He should be very happy there.

We have those in our window wells too. But only when it rains. And the ones at our house are not that big. We also have a bucket in the garage with a little toad. That's just how it rolls with kids! We mostly have an abundance of voles this summer. I hate them!
