Lamb Day 5K

I have been running for the past 2+ months with a couple of friends. We average 3-5 mile a day and go about 5 days a week. I am NOT a runner by any means, but I think I've done pretty well. We've been gearing up to run the Lamb Day 5k. Well it finally arrived this past weekend.

My boys ran the Lamb Scram. It's a fun run of one mile. I couldn't get Little Man to pose with me before the race. They both ran the whole way. I was proud of them. Big Man tripped Little Man and he did get a few battle wounds-oops.

My girls hung out at the park with the Allreds while the rest of us ran.

The majority of the 5k was flat and downhill. There was one hill about 2/3 the way through the race and then the last 4 blocks were uphill. When I run, I usually walk and take breaks, but for the race I decided I would try and run the whole way. I made it until the last block at which point it started raining. I took a 10 second break and then ran the last bit. I finished in 28 minutes 19 seconds. For me that is a great time. I was proud of myself.

Attack of the Ninjas

We have some Ninjago lovers at this house.  I thought they were pretty cute practicing their ninja moves with some friends over.

What do you think?

I've been meaning to go through The Mover's clothes and look at the next size up clothes bin. The clothes she's been wearing all summer were getting a little small and I thought the next bin I had was size 24 months. I found two bins and one of them was FULL of 18 month summer stuff. I was excited, but MAD that I hadn't got it out at the beginning of the summer. There were some cute 'girly' dresses that evoked a bunch of memories from when Little Princess wore them. I dressed her up in one of them and then got out the pictures to compare the girls at this age. Jeff thinks they look identical. What do you think?

Updating the Photos

To update my temple picture wall, I needed new pics of the kids. This morning was a little bit overcast and cooler, so I decided to give it a go. They turned out pretty cute, although I don't know if I'll ever get a good one of all 4 together. I have to say that I think I have pretty cute kids.

A week of peace-and projects...

My husband surprised me last week by taking my oldest three kids off of my hands. He took them up to his sister's house in Boise. I thought about joining them, but decided I could use the break and get a lot of my projects done. I only took pictures of a few of the projects I got done. These chairs were destroyed by the weather and my active children. This took a lot longer than I thought, but worth it in the end (I think). I used an outdoor paint to re-cover the frames, and then bought a strong upholstery fabric for the seat and back.
Here's the finished project:

Another project I have been wanting to do for the longest time is to make a temple picture. I have tried several times to get the file I wanted made large enough at Costco. It didn't work out with the resolution of the file I had, so I printed it at Staples instead. It ended up being a little more expensive there, but I was happy with how it turned out.
Now i just need to update the kids pictures on the side to replace my 'rented family' :-) One thing at a time, right? Some other projects I completed are: painting my front door, painting the frame around the back and side doors, painting the base of my stair railing, updated scrapbooks, organized my storage and toy rooms, and so much more. My husband is a good man and dad. It was nice to have a break and 'me time' to get stuff done that I wanted to do. My kids had a blast with their cousins. It was a win-win!

Ouch!

So 'The Mover' is now also known as the climber. It's fun to see them grow and explore. We're still working on walking on her own, but she's getting there. She's taken steps on her own, but not a lot.

Look at my cute girls. They make me smile. Little Princess had her first cavities filled on Friday. She did awesome, but afterwards while her lip was numb, she bit it.
And kept biting it over and over again. She had the biggest, fattest lip I have ever seen. It looked so sore. Finally 4 days later it's starting to look a little better. Poor thing.
