Little Princess Turns One!!!

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but a whole year has passed since Little Princess joined our family. It's been a busy, crazy, and fun year. She's such a sweetie and pretty cute if I say so myself. Here she is all dolled up for church.

The boys could hardly wait for her party. Who do you think was more excited for presents?

She loved her new puppy from her cousins. She even went to bed with it tonight :)

??? I'm not quite sure what's going on in this picture. But she's pretty excited about all her fun toys. She got a cute Little People SUV, a Lion she can ride on or push, and a gumball machine with fun toys that go in it.

Big man helped pick out her cake. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we have to have some elaborate princess cake. This year we got away with a simple flower cake :)

Um, yeah. She makes a bigger mess in the morning eating yogurt or cottage cheese. I guess she felt like she had to be dainty eating her cake. She did enjoy it though.

Little Princess had a great birthday and party. She's been such a joy to have in our family. She loves her brothers and tries to be just as big as they are. They adore her and make her laugh like no one else can. Her dad won't admit it, but she's got him wrapped around his finger. It's been fun having a girl in our family.

What a Week!!!

This week I have been a deer hunting widow. Overall it has been a busy and crazy week. Monday started out with a big scrape on Big Man's cheek. He came home from preschool and his friend's house with a big scrape. He fell off of his friend's scooter. His friend's mom felt bad. It happens. I didn't think anything of it until I realized Wednesday was picture day at preschool. As soon as I get those back, I'll be sure to post :) It should be a good one with no bottom teeth and a big owie on his cheek. Later that day a little mishap with a slamming door knocked over a decoration and somehow made our toilet leak. I had to turn off the water to the toilet and we have not been able to use that bathroom all week. Sounds like a small inconvenience I know, but I didn't realize how much everyone used that bathroom.

Right after Little Man turned three he went to the dentist for the first time. He was so excited to go and he was the best little patient. The bad news was he had some major cavities. Three of his four back molars had cavities so deep that the nerve needed to be removed. The dentist said it could be due to fevers and ear infections when he was younger. He also encouraged me to 'put him out' for the procedure. We set it all up for the South Town Surgery Center for Thursday of this week (this was before I knew it was deer hunting week). Tuesday night I got a call saying the surgery center didn't accept our insurance. The next opening was in October unless I did it at their office today (Friday). I opted for their office. I wanted to get it over with. I made arrangements with family to watch the other two kids and we were set.

I didn't quite know how they were going to put him out to do the surgery. I held him in my lap and they gave him a shot in his arm (while being distracted with toys). Three minutes later he was out. They took him back, started an IV and the whole thing took about 25 minutes. It took him almost an hour to wake up. He was pretty out of it when he first woke up. It took about a half hour for him to fully wake up. The rest of the afternoon and evening he was kind of restless and tired. Overall, I think he did great. He did throw up a couple of times from the anesthesia, but I think it went well. The other two did well at their cousins and grandparents houses. Thanks to my family for their help :)

I made a few phone calls while we were relaxing at home and of course Little Man wanted to talk. While he was talking to his Grandma, she asked how he was. He told her he was grumpy. I've never heard him use that word before, but I thought it was hilarious. He's such a cutie.

I think there were a few other events this week, but I can't remember them now. Tomorrow is birthday cake shopping for Little Princess. She turns one on Sunday. I can't believe it's been a year. I'll post some pictures when I get my camera back from the deer hunter.

Preschool and Other Random Happenings

Big Man on his first day of Preschool. He's been asking for weeks when it was going to start again. He really loves school. He's excited to be back with all of his friends from last year. We're also carpooling with two of his buddies from our ward. He loves it.

This is how Little Man sleeps most nights. His friends take up most of the bed. By morning they're all over the floor, but this is how it starts. He's also out of pull ups at night. He's such a big boy.

Look at this monkey. We had these tables inside for Little Man's birthday party and she wouldn't stay off of them. What a nut.
These little cuties keep me busy (and crazy most days), but they are fun.

Labor Day Fun

For Labor Day we decided to have a family activity. We went fishing at Payson Lakes. The boys were thrilled to go. Little Princess and I went along for the ride :) Here are two of my boys just chilling and waiting for the fish.

Little Man and Little Princess enjoying the snacks.

The first catch of the day. Big man wouldn't touch it. He was pretty excited though.

The kids had a great time and they were really good. Little Princess had fun playing on the blanket and I finished a book. That's my idea of a perfect fishing day. Laying in the sun reading :) Jeff thinks I'm really weird.

After our fishing excursion we went to a BBQ with some friends (the Rasmussens) in Ephraim. They just built a new home and we were excited to go see it. They did an awesome job. It's really a beautiful home. I left my camera in the car, so I didn't get any pictures (sorry Lynne) The boys had fun jumping on the trampoline. There were lots of other little boys to play with. It was fun to hang out with some family friends and let the kids run wild.

All in all it was a long, wonderful day. We didn't get home until late, but we all had a great time. Usually with a day off, we end up having a girls day (me and LIttle Princess), and a boys day (Jeff and the boys). This time we decided on a family day and it was great.

Happy Birthday Little Man

Sunday was Little Man's birthday. Where has the time gone? I can't believe he's three. He's sure grown up a ton in the last few months. It's fun to carry on a conversation with him and his comments and expressions make us laugh. I thought he looked extra handsome for church, so I had to get a photo

We didn't buy birthday hats, so he got a crown instead. Big man colored and decorated it for him. It was cute.

Opening more presents. He knew what most of them were, but he still got really excited with each one he opened. It was great.

Little Man got to pick out his own cake. He did pretty good.
It was a fun party. Now in three weeks Little Princess turns 1. Whose idea was it to have all these birthdays right in a row?

Fun at the Zoo

We went to the zoo today with our friends. We had a great time. It had been quite a while since any of us had been. Here's the boys in front of the sleeping gorilla.

We had fun riding the carousel.

The zebras are always a favorite.

Being goofy with all of the kids.
And last but not least the train ride. Little Princess enjoyed this as well. She thought she was pretty big riding on the train just like her brothers.

What a Smile

After a long, hard struggle, Big man says farewell to tooth #2. It seriously could've come out about a week ago, but it was a battle to the end (mostly on Big Man's part). I almost wish it came out the same way the first one did-as a surprise. He was pretty excited after it was all said and done. I like his new smile :)
