Memorial Weekend in Boise...

We spent Memorial weekend in Boise. It was a fun, action packed weekend. The main event was the baby blessing of Emily's little girl. We posed for a family picture after church. My family had already changed-oops.
Here's the little star. She is so adorable. So little and cute and such a good mellow baby.
My kids LOVED holding her. Little Princess couldn't get enough of her. She was very fascinated with her face and trying to touch/poke it constantly.
Uncle Andy dressed up as Mario. What a nut.
Another part of the festivities included a birthday party for 'O'. She turns 2 this Wednesday. She got a new trike that she absolutely loved. All of the kids wanted to try it out.
Isn't this a cute little picture. This is 6 of the 10 Hansen grandchildren. It doesn't happen often that we get them all in one place. One day we'll get everyone together-that would be fun and totally chaotic.

Another fun part of this weekend was visiting a mission companion that lives in Nampa. We didn't get any pictures :( It was fun to visit with her and see her cute family. She's got 4 children and is such a good mom. My kids were wild and crazy the whole visit, but it was fun.

Overall it was a great weekend. It was a lot of driving and I was very tired all weekend. We stayed in a hotel this time so we didn't overwhelm Emily and her family with people. It took on average 2 hours a night to get all three kids to sleep. Little Princess was the worst. She thought it was playtime.

Hilarious

I love this little impromptu dance video of Big Man. What a nut.

Our last photo shoot...

I had these pictures taken over a month ago, but I just barely got them transferred to a CD to put them on my blog. My friend Susan Barnes took these pictures at the roundabout by the gym we go to. It was fun. They always turn out so cute, but how could they not. My kids are pretty cute :)

Preschool Graduation

Big Man graduated from preschool today. Isn't he the most handsome graduate you've ever seen? I think so :) He had a speaking part in the program and did a great job. I can't believe he's getting so big.

Big Man and two of his buddies.
The awesome teachers at the New Sunshine preschool.
It's been a great two years of preschool. We're excited to start Kindergarten in September.

More Creations

Today after the zoo Big Man announced that we needed some 'signs'. I wasn't quite sure what he meant, but he set to work. Next thing I know this is what my stairs look like.
Here's a closer look. This one means no getting hurt. Complete with the Transformers band-aid and the tears.
This one is NO jumping.
This one is no slapping.

What a nut!!!

Zoo Trip

With my garage sale earnings I bought a season pass to the zoo. The kids are always asking to go. We had a good time, although I have this knack for picking days when every elementary school in the valley is there on a field trip. The same thing happened at the Discovery Gateway Museum a few weeks ago. Shouldn't these kids be in school, not on a field trip :)

We had a fun time watching this giraffe try and eat leaves. I had a great closeup picture with his tongue way out, but it was accidentally deleted.

I love this last picture. I told the boys to sit by Little Princess so she didn't fall. Looks like she's pretty safe.

Extreme Laundry...

I don't usually photograph my laundry, but yesterday was the laundry day from hell. I probably did 12 loads. I usually don't have that many loads, but Little Princess was sick. She threw up all over her bed and mine. In addition to everything in the picture, I also had four loads of my bedding. It's not often that I wash my blanket, comforter, and bed skirt. I think that half of my linen closet was cleaned yesterday.

For me washing is not the hard part, it's the folding. It took me at least two hours this morning to fold everything and put it away. The only space I had big enough to fold and make piles was the hallway. Boy am I glad that's done.

Little Princess is feeling better today, but now Little Man has it. At least with the boys they throw up in a bucket or the bathroom. It's a lot less clean up. Here's to hoping that no one else gets it. Wish us luck.

What a weekend...

This has been an awesome and full weekend. It started Friday with nothing short of a miracle. We closed on our other house!!! We've had our other house ever since we bought this one three years ago. Jeff's mom lived in it for a while, and then we did a lease option to a couple that lived in it for a year and a half. Since last April we've had it for sale. We had it under contract back in September (?) and the bank took SO long to get approval that the buyers found something else. Right about the time we were going to put it back on the market, we had flood damage. The water was never turned off and the pipes froze and flooded the family room. This was right around Christmas. It took about 6 weeks to get it all fixed and put back together. Once it was relisted we got three offers on it. The bank still took about two months for approval, and Friday we got the final approval and closed on it. What a mess. I know it could've turned out so differently and I know for many people it has, but I am so grateful to be done with that house. Especially before summer and having to mow the lawn weekly :)

Saturday we had a yard sale. I was going through our toy room a couple of months ago and was amazed at how crammed it was with toys. I started piling up toys that we don't play with and came up with a HUGE pile. I called my sister-in-law Becky and we decided to have a yard sale. My mother-in-law and her sister also contributed some goods and we had a LOT of good stuff. I advertised it well on KSL.com all week and put up good signs and we had a ton of people. I was impressed. It was nice to get rid of stuff and make a few bucks in the process. I would've made more had I not bought so much of Jeff's aunt's stuff :) It was fun.

Finally today is Mother's Day. What a fun and special day. My favorite part of mother's day is watching my cute primary children sing in sacrament meeting. The day started off with Big Man climbing into my bed and handing me his gift he made in preschool. It was a bookmark. He was so excited to give it to me. I tried to get up and go downstairs to eat, but Big man wouldn't let me. Jeff brought me a plate and drink up for breakfast in bed. I thought it would end there, but up come three more plate. My three little angels got to eat breakfast in my bed as well. It was fun. Of course it was a huge mess, but I loved it. My sweet hubby surprised me with a great present and even made dinner and did all the dishes. What a sweetie. I love being a mother to these great little people who teach me so much. I also love that I have a great mother who does so much for me. She's a great example and a good friend. Love you mom.

Good weekend. Now back to the grind :)

Jungle Fowl

So how have we spent the last week you ask? This is it. We have 40 jungle fowl in our garage. They arrived last Tuesday morning at 5:30 a.m. fresh from the post office. They were shipped from Minnesota. Ever since then my kids have been permanently camped in the garage. They are completely entertained and in awe of these little chicks.

I love this picture because it looks like Little Princess is saying a prayer in the background. Who knows-maybe she is :)
This picture cracks me up for two reasons. Big Man's expression, and Little Man trying to avoid getting poop on him. The chicks learned to poop once they're held, so they're put back immediately :) Smart little fellas.
The kids only get to hold the chicks when dad is home. Little Man begs all the time to get them out.
This is about as long as Little Princess held the chick before she started screaming. What a nut. She wants to be as big as the boys, but sometimes she just can't handle it.
It's been a fun and adventurous week. We started with 50 chicks and we're down to about 41. The door from the garage to the house is always open so the kids can go back and forth. There are folding chairs in front of the cage for viewing fun-there's a big glass on the front of the cage so you can watch them. We only have the chicks for a little while longer until they go down to 'the farm' in Fountain Green. The reasoning behind them is to eat the bugs on the farm (at least I think so).
