Lamb Day Festivities

Another Lamb Day has come and gone. This is my 7th Lamb Day since Jeff and I met. Lamb Day is Fountain Green, Utah's town celebration for those of you who don't know. Jeff grew up in Fountain Green until he was 14. We decided to rent a trailer this year and spend the whole weekend. I wasn't about to sleep in a tent or on the ground. It was nice to have a bed-even if I had to share with little man. Here are a few pictures of the festivities.
The parade is at 10 in the morning. It was blazing hot already. The kids got more candy than they did at Halloween. They had a great time. Little man even got into it (eventually)
There are lots of games and activities for the kids at the park. We had a good time watching them play.
This picture was taken through the plastic window. The boys had fun trying to catch all the balloons.
The "Sheeper Creeper." It's a little train hooked to the back of a 4-wheeler.
The sawdust scavenger hunt. They put candy and prizes in a pile of sawdust and let the kids try and find it. Just what we need-more candy.

We tried to find some cool activities in the shade. The boys had fun on the playground. Little man did not nap all day and was almost asleep in the swing. It was pretty funny to watch.

Other than the heat, I would say Lamb Day was a success. Boy was I mad when the clouds rolled in at 7:00 at night. It's already cooling down by then. Oh well, maybe next year it will be cloudy :)

Primary Parade

This is our ward's annual primary parade. They bring in a fire engine for the kids to ride on or the kids can ride their bikes, scooters, 4-wheelers, etc. Big man wanted to ride on the fire truck. He was SO excited. He thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
This is big man's friend. She is so good with him and he adores her. She kept an eye on him on the fire truck since I wasn't about to get up there :)
The parade ends at the park where it splashes water for the kids to play in.
Big man was a little overwhelmed at first, but it didn't take him long to get completely soaked (shoes, socks, and all).
This is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day. I thought about it myself :)
Little man would only get his feet wet and that was after the water had stopped from the fire truck. He's not nearly as brave-maybe next year.

The primary went all out with festivities, food, and games. It was a great activity. This is big man with some friends attempting the 3-legged race. They held hands until it started and then it was a free-for-all. They all ran in different directions. It was pretty funny to watch.
The evening was a great success and big man was so tired, he slept extra long this morning. This is a fun tradition that we'll definitely look forward to.

Fourth of July Fun

For the Fourth of July we went to Boise, Idaho to visit Jeff's sister and family. We had a great time. Here are some of the highlights from the trip. The boys participated in a small parade that morning. They thought it was pretty cool.
This was little man's first time with fireworks. Last year he was too little to enjoy them.

One of the highlights of the trip was meeting their new cousin, Baby O. She's a month old and adorable. Both of my boys had to be right in her face and check out what she was doing.
Fun at the Splash Park. This is as close to a picture of me pregnant as you're going to get :) At least until I take my profile picture right before my due date.

Little man usually doesn't like to get wet at the splash park, but he made an exception this time. He had a great time.
The sparklers were quite a hit with the kids. Big man thought he was pretty cool.
We had a fun time in Boise. It's always fun to get the kids together with their cousins (even though they get on each other's nerves).

Kidney stone update: Just an update from my last blog. I passed my kidney stone after about 36 hours. I had some more IV fluids after my doctor visit because I couldn't keep anything down for around 24 hours. After that second dose of IV's I felt much better. The pain went away after I passed the kidney stone for a while and then it started again. So I'm pretty sure I had a second stone. This was about the time we left for Boise, so it was kind of hard to strain my pee like I should've. That first night in Boise, I was up until 3 or 4 in the morning with a lot of pain, but since then it's been gone. So the 2nd stone is either in my bladder indefinitely or completely gone, I guess I'll never know. I did compare my first stone to the one I had when I was pregnant with little man. I was kind of surprised that it was smaller. For the amount of pain and sickness I had I thought it would be huge. Thanks for all the love and concern.

Ugh...It's a Kidney Stone

I don't usually post about me, but thought I'd make this exception. Last night about midnight I woke up with a really bad pain in my side and stomach. I thought it was an upset tummy, but after an hour and a half I decided to call the women's center. I suspected it was a kidney stone, and they told me to come in and get checked out. I woke Jeff to tell him what was going on and around 2 a.m. I arrived at Alta View. I received a shot of Morphine and two bags of IV fluid. I thought the morphine would take the pain away, but I was wrong. It relaxed every other part of my body-EXCEPT my stomach. I thought I could get a little bit of sleep at the hospital, but I had forgotten how utterly uncomfortable those beds are, especially when my back, side, and stomach ached at this point.

Finally around 6 a.m. I left to go home. They sent me home with two Loritab. I took one right when I got home and it didn't help ease the pain either. I thought I'd come home to a rested house, but big man was in my bed, little man had been up twice and daddy hadn't slept much either. I avoided calling him because I didn't want to wake him-guess I should've. At this point, I realize I'm going to be pretty worthless for the day. This is the day when I've arranged for playgroup to meet at the splash park, Jeff had several appointments, etc. Not a good day to be sick. Jeff stayed home for a few hours in the morning and then his sister watched the boys for the morning. She took them over to my brother and sister-in-law's for the afternoon, and then my parents picked them up for the evening. They were little trooopers for being shipped around all day. I am so grateful to have awesome family around to help when needed.

My instructions before leaving the hospital were to drink fluids like crazy. I tried, believe me, but I couldn't keep any water down. I've thrown up more today than in all my morning sickness days combined. Ugh. The pain lessened in the afternoon enough for me to finally sleep. That was nice. I woke up feeling much better. I got the pain and nausea back around 5 or 6, but as of right now I'm feeling okay. I haven't passed the stone yet, but I hope to soon.

Thanks for all the calls of concern and sympathy and offers to take the kids. I appreciate it. I plan on feeling like a new woman shortly :)

Carnival O Fun

We took the boys to the Riverton City Carnival tonight. We were going to go to the rodeo, but decided this would be more fun instead. Big Man was so excited all afternoon that he wouldn't sleep. He kept asking all day if we were ready to go yet. Little man didn't quite know what to think, but he had a great time as well. We were a little nervous he wouldn't stay in the rides, but he did great. The first few Big Man ventured on his own, but Little Man was not going to be left out. I couldn't pick only a few pictures because they were all so cute. I did narrow them down though (believe if or not). You'll notice I'm not in any of the pictures. I'm the official photographer. I took pictures while all three of my boys enjoyed the rides. One of the perks of being pregnant.

This is Big Man's second time down the slide. This time he went all by himself.

We all had a great time. Luckily it wasn't too hot. We may have to make this a family tradition.

Decorating the Nursery

I don't know what got into me. I still have over three months to go, but I got a wild hair to decorate the nursery. I stenciled the wall with two very active helpers. I'm lucky there wasn't paint everywhere. We had a fun time-me painting and the boys jumping in the crib throwing things everywhere. We almost had some stuffed animals covered in paint.


I'm hoping that by the time the baby gets here, the newness of the baby's room will wear off. Right now the swing is the funnest thing to play in. I hope it makes it until her arrival. My almost 2-year old won't stay out. He was whining the other day and I kept yelling for him to come downstairs. When I went to find him, he was locked into the swing and couldn't get out. It made me laugh.
I've had lots of fun finding girl things. The dresser drawers already have a good start. It's so much fun to shop for pink. Jeff rolls his eyes at me, but secretly I think he's enjoying it too. She'll have him wrapped around his little finger. Big man is already looking for 'girl' things at the store for his little sister. I have so much help. We're definitely ready for her to come-even though we still have over three months to go. Hopefully it will go by quickly.

Recent Happenings

Big man calls this hairstyle 'the dinosaur'. While dad was styling it last Sunday, he told him he wanted to be triceratops. So this is the end result. He wore it to church like this. Surprisingly no one said a thing :)

This is why my house is always a mess. This cart used to house toys in our family room. The boys think it's fun to dump them out and come up with alternate uses for the cart.

Swimming in the backyard. I've got two little fish on my hands. They love everything to do with swimming and water. It doesn't even matter that the water is ice cold from the hose.
Big man went fishing with his dad and Grandpa last weekend. He's been talking about doing it for months and finally it happened. He was so excited to go. He caught one fish right before they left. This picture is from Grandpa's camera and for some reason it came across pretty small.
